Supermarket scooter

A few weeks ago, Marc and I bought a second-hand scooter for speedy supermarket runs.
Here it is in our building's garage:

Informal parking. There aren't any spaces for scooters or motorcycles, so people usually leave them on the pavement or on a median.

Our favorite market

Persimmon pyramids. Fruit is often sold in two set quantities: small (bucket) or large (box).

Giant scallions

Greens aren't particularly abundant in Korean cuisine but when they make an appearance, every leaf is perfect.

Food stall arcade

The black circular thing is a grinder and the blurry pale yellow things inside it are soybeans. The paste goes into the fry vats in the background.

The silver hoses are there to dispose of the smoke. The stools that we're perched on double as storage units for outerwear, so that you can leave with laundry-fresh coats and accessories.

LP bars, Hongdae

LP bars are tiny, 4- or 5-table operations in the basements of buildings where you can drink, order snacks, and listen to records.

Suzie Q Bar

Byrds Bar

Carole King Jazz Bar

Suzie Q had a DJ who took requests, Byrds' DJ only played tunes from the '90s, and the Carole King, our last and favorite bar of the night, played Ella and Afro-Cuban jazz.
